The panel I wish I’d heard sooner.

It was raw, honest, and everything I hoped it would be.
Women talking the truth, about life, work, health, and everything in between.

Chinwe opened up about women’s health, about wanting kids, and how hard it can be to fit that into a career and business life. She spoke about cutting down her clinical days and how that’s actually made her more successful, opening new doors through social media and doing work that truly fits her.

Coco spoke straight from the heart about doing your own thing and leading your own path. She talked about not letting fear hold you back and covered everything from business to relationships to menopause.

And Shandy reminded us that success looks different for everyone. That motherhood, guilt, and happiness can all co-exist. And that sometimes, joy comes from finding your people, not from ticking boxes.

The room was full.
The energy was real.
And if there was one message that echoed through it all- it was this:
You get to define your version of success.
You get to choose what matters.
And you’re allowed to change your mind as you grow.
Don't let fear hold you back.

✨ Join the Dental Mums Network- it’s completely free.
We’re building a community for women in dentistry, with mums at the heart of it.
But we can only build it if you join, show up, and tell us what you want from it.
It’s already the fastest-growing network for women in dentistry and we’d love you to be part of it.

Such a lovely surprise to see myself on the cover of the DSL ( i genuinely had no clue!)

But honestly, the best part wasn’t the photo. It was the messages from supportive women saying how proud they were and how cool it was. That’s what DMN is about. Not one person, but all of us, building each other up and reminding each other we’re not alone.

I think so many of us are craving the same thing, to meet new people, to make genuine friends, to have supportive networks around us. Dentistry doesn’t have to feel cliquey or closed off. We can create spaces where everyone feels welcome.

If you’re coming to ExCeL this Saturday, please come and say hi. I’d love to meet you and I know you’ll meet other amazing women too.

I’ve been asked to speak at For the Doers, and I’m genuinely honoured to be part of it.

I'll be sharing the stage with Rory Sutherland, speaking on leadership, not the perfect kind you read about, but the kind that happens in the thick of real life. The messy bits. The bold calls. The moments you grow into.

It’s a day built for fresh thinking and honest conversations, and I’m here for it!

This weekend, I was honoured to be invited by to sit beside my friend .yewandedental for a Fact or Fiction panel, hosted by the lovely . Together, in front of over 700 dental students, we discussed:

✅ Will NHS dentistry survive the next 10 years?
✅ Is social media helping or harming our profession?
✅ Do dental schools truly prepare us for the real world?

On the NHS:

I believe it will remain—not necessarily in its current form, but likely as an emergency-based model. Removing it completely would place immense strain on other parts of the NHS, particularly A&E. Many of us still want to work in the NHS (I’m still here 10 years later!), and I believe in affordable care for those who need it. However, the system needs restructuring and proper funding to be sustainable.

On Social Media:

My message was simple: use it as a tool—don’t let it use you. Whether for marketing, networking, or education, social media has incredible benefits, but it is not essential for success. I know many highly successful dentists who don’t use it at all. If it starts to consume you or impact your mental health, step away. But if you can manage it wisely, it can open doors—just as it has for me in coauthoring Dentistry in a Nutshell ( see the photos of me surprised when you guys came for an autograph 🤣❤️), securing speaking opportunities, and growing my communication academy- The Patient Journey Academy.

On Dental School:

I don’t believe it adequately prepares us for the real world. My biggest shock after graduating was realizing I did not feel clinically equipped. In my first year, I was learning skills I should have mastered as an undergraduate—and in that gap, my communication skills became my safety net. Patients forgave my learning curve because they trusted me, and that trust was built through how I communicated.

But beyond the debate, this reminded me of something even more important— friendships.

Find friends who brighten your light, not dim it. Friends who remind you of your worth and celebrate you without jealousy. These are the ones who prove there’s room for all of us to rise.
Xx

Fast Tracking your Future Conference.
It's always an honour to be invited to speak and a gift to receive such a warm welcome and kind feedback.

Fast tracking your future is a fantastic event hosted by the amazing to help young dentists learn from those more experienced in the field. But don't be misled by the name. Don't fast-track your future. Enjoy the journey, let it be slow, and treasure each day. Yes, fast track learning from others mistakes but realise everyone has their own journey. Each journey is unique, with some chaos but beautiful, and yours will be too.

My talk was about Human Connection being the secret to success in everything you wish to achieve in your careers.
Get genuinely interested in your patients, and they will reveal not only what they Need but what they Want.

If you want :
Treatment plan acceptance- connection
Job satisfaction - connection
Fewer complaints - connection
Less stress - connection
More money- connection
Connection is the secret.

Message me anytime for a discussion on this or check out my patient journey academy.

Share below your secret to success.
