Diabetes and dental health are closely connected and during Diabetes Awareness Week, it’s time to talk about it.

Here’s why it matters:

🔹People with diabetes are more likely to develop gum disease. This is because diabetes can weaken the body’s ability to fight infections, including infections in the gums.

🔹Gum disease can make it even harder to control your blood sugar levels. Gum disease causes inflammation in the gums which can interfere with the body’s ability to respond to insulin properly.
