Hook Road Dental Practice

Hook Road Dental Practice Hook Road Dental Practice moved to 401 Hook Road, part of Hook Parade in Chessington in March 2016.

We have recently re-located from our previous site at 71 Hook Road to our brand new modern site at 401 Hook Road, on the Hook Parade in Chessington.

We would like to inform all our patients at the practice that Sarah and Neil Douglas have retired from the NHS after owning Hook Road Dental Practice for the last 20 years.
The new owner Dr Kunal Patel of Love Teeth Ltd will now be looking after the patients and providing dentistry to the local community. He is looking to build on the work we did when we relocated to the new premises at 401 Hook Road and we wish him success for the future.

With news of the second lockdown, I would like to re-assure all our patients that we are open as usual in a Covid secure way.

Dr Neil Douglas being Fit-Tested for the new masks. A bitter tasting solution is sprayed around the mmask whilst wearing the hood. As long as you can't taste the bitter solution means the virus also won't pe*****te the mask. Clever isn't it.

To all our wonderful patients,
I am happy to say we are now open again.
However, a lot has now changed in the way we can see patients due to the risk of Coronavirus and we ask for your patience whilst we adjust.

We are prioritising those people that have had problems during lockdown and vulnerable people. Initially only emergency appointments will be available. We are looking at providing more of our routine services as we progress, get further PPE and can operate in a safe environment.

We will be providing dental care in the safest possible surroundings following the advice of the various dental bodies.

Some changes that you will experience at your next appointment are.

• A pre-attendance assessment, including an update on your medical history.
• To eliminate waiting in the practice please arrive at the time of your appointment.
• You will be asked to wait at the entrance until a member of staff admits you.
• You will have your temperature taken and asked to hand sanitise.
• Available appointments have been radically reduced to allow for social distancing and to undertake extra cross infection control.
• Please attend alone unless exceptional circumstances.
• Toilet facilities are unavailable.

Thank you for your understanding and we hope to see you all.

We have just been informed that we can open from June 8th.
With this in mind we are planning how the new opening procedures will work in conjunction with the Covid rules and social distancing etc.
Initially we will be seeing emergency appointments only.
From June 8th please phone the normal number on 020 8391 4401 to book an emergency appointment. You may not get an appointment that day as we will be strictly limited on the number of people we are allowed to see in a day.
In the meantime, if you have an emergency that can't wait, you can speak to a dentist on 07399 642488 for advice.
What treatments we can perform and how these are carried out will be subject to change as we get used to a new way of working in this infectious environment and our main focus will be on keeping everyone safe and healthy.
Please only come to the surgery if you have an appointment.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Here is some information in case of a dental emergency.

22/03/2020

The latest information from the Government, The Chief Dental Association and The British Dental Association is that routine dentistry is no longer possible due to the very high risk of cross-infection.

With this in mind and the urgent need to reduce unnecessary contact between people, the surgery will be seeing emergencies only. Our aim is to keep staff, patients and the local community safe in this difficult time.

Telephone advice will be available on 020 8391 4401 in the morning.

If you need any urgent advice in office hours you can speak to a dentist on 07399 642488

I have attached the NHS advice and would like to reassure all our patients that as a dental practice we have maintained the highest levels of cross infection control. The surgery has always been cleaned with anti-viral wipes between patients. We are now also using these wipes to clean communal areas and places people may touch.

Because of important hygiene regulations a lot of the equipment we use is plastic and disposable. We are looking into ways that we can be more environmentally friendly and hygienic at the same time. Here are some of the latest more eco friendly products that we are trying out.
