Brushing straight after eating? You might want to rethink that… 🫡

It sounds like the responsible thing to do, but Mark’s got a simple tip that could help protect your teeth in the long run: wait around 30 minutes after eating or drinking before reaching for your toothbrush.

After we eat or have an acidic drink, the environment in our mouth temporarily becomes more acidic. Giving it a little time to return towards normal before brushing can help reduce unnecessary wear on the teeth.

Brushing straight away once probably isn’t going to make a noticeable difference - but repeat that habit over 10, 20 or 30 years and it could contribute to tooth wear and erosion.

And yes, that includes brushing immediately after your evening glass of w**e! 🍷

Sometimes looking after your smile isn’t about doing more, it’s about doing things at the right time.
