We get asked by many orthodontists to remove premolar teeth to help them straighten up patient’s teeth. But we never considered it from the premolar’s point of view before… 🤔🦷

Impacted wisdom teeth cause a lot of problems for patients. Here’s a selection of ones I have removed over the past couple of days. Nice variety of positions. Each one a little puzzle to solve as to how to remove it as carefully as possible. Having removed thousands of these over the years you get quicker at solving the puzzle as you develop various approaches with a focus on minimal trauma and surgery time for patients. .world

Replacing a full set of teeth using dental implants is a complicated process that should be respected. You can’t learn how to do it on a weekend course, it takes many years of training and experience to be able to do it at a high standard. In the wrong hands it can become a total disaster. This poor patient paid good money a couple of years ago to have his upper teeth replaced with a fixed implant bridge. He came to see me complaining of pain on eating and a terrible taste/smell coming from the bridge. The whole bridge was moving up and down in his jaw and causing him a lot of pain. So there was nothing we could do other than remove the bridge and the implants. Two of the implants had fallen out themselves when he came to have the bridge removed. Poor planning and poor ex*****on by an inexperienced clinician resulted in a bridge that didn’t fit and that was not hygienically designed so it had rotting food debris trapped underneath it that could not be cleaned out. This patient has learned a hard lesson. Always take the time to check the credentials of your implant surgeon before you invest time and money to these types of cases.

Monday motivation. A nice smile can transform someone internally and externally. There is no greater honour than when a patient puts their trust in me to do this for them after years of being scared to go to the dentist.

Three missing teeth following the failure of a conventional bridge replaced using two dental implants and a bridge of three teeth. This great patient is now restored back to full function, just in time to be able to get stuck in to his Christmas turkey! 🦃 .co.uk .world

We love building bridges! This wonderful patient had lost three teeth. So we replaced the three teeth using two implants and a bridge of three teeth. Straightforward and predictable treatment. Good as new! 👍
