Cysts and soft tissue lumps can appear in and around the mouth, jaw, face, and neck and while many are entirely benign, they should always be properly assessed to see if removal is needed.

Here at the South Wales Specialist Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Centre, cysts in the skin of the head and neck are managed by Mr Neil Scott, our Head, Neck and Maxillofacial Surgeon.

Every cyst or lump we remove is sent to a Pathologist for analysis to confirm its type and ensure complete peace of mind.

If you have noticed a lump or swelling on your head or neck and are unsure what it is, please don't ignore it. Early assessment is always the right approach.

Earlier this week we introduced you to Mr Craig Mallorie, one of our Specialist Oral Surgeons. Today we would like you to meet our other, Dr Elle Carey.

Dr Elle Carey is a Specialist Oral Surgeon and Medical Doctor here at the South Wales Specialist Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Centre. Her dual qualification in both medicine and dentistry makes her uniquely placed to provide care for patients with complex medical needs, including those with heart conditions, blood thinners, diabetes, endocrine disorders, or those who have previously experienced complications with dental treatment.

Dr Carey has a particular passion for supporting nervous and anxious patients, working alongside our range of sedation options to ensure every patient feels calm, comfortable, and completely cared for from start to finish.

Meet our Clinical Director Mr Craig Mallorie, here at the South Wales Specialist Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Centre.

With over 20 years of experience placing dental implants and carrying out complex oral surgery procedures, Mr M is devoted to his craft having studied across three continents to bring his patients the very best of care from across the Globe.

The dental implant treatment he provides is using a Swiss system, called Straumann, which has been trusted worldwide for over 40 years and is backed by hundreds of high quality studies and research articles.

Last year Mr M placed the most Straumann dental implants in Wales (according to their national sales figures), so you can rest assured we do this a lot!

His approach is simple; to provide honest advice, meticulous planning, and a genuine commitment to making sure every patient feels informed, safe, and confident that they are making a smart investment in their quality of life throughout their treatment journey.
