Have you been told you don't have enough bone for implants?

Don't worry, we have you covered. Specialist Oral Surgeon, Mr Craig Mallorie, is an expert in predictable bone regeneration techniques.

Here are two recent case examples of two different techniques used; The first is a "block graft" where we use a small block of bone from your lower wisdom tooth region and secure it into the defect site using small titanium screws to thicken the bone prior to implant placement.

The second technique demonstrated is a "sinus lift" where we regenerate bone height below your sinus cavity to allow for an implant to then be placed, this sinus lift case example is from a lovely patient who is actually the Mother of a dentist.

If you have been told you don't have enough bone to have implants, come and see Mr Mallorie for a chat to hear how he could help.

Not enough bone for implants? No problem, we can make some!

This patient was missing some upper premolars and molars affecting their function.

To begin with there was not enough bone below their sinus cavity to place implants. So Mr Mallorie performed a sinus bone augmentation procedure (called a "sinus lift") before then placing three dental implants to support a bridge of four teeth. Now the patient is back to full function!

If you have been told you don't have enough bone for implants, come and see us for a chat.

Welsh culture and heritage runs through every corner of our clinic, and we wanted to share a little of that with you today.

Our consultation suites are affectionately named the Mynydd Suite and Blodyn Suite, meaning Mountain and Flower in Welsh. They are designed to feel warm and welcoming from the very first appointment.

Treatment takes place in our Castell and Afon Suites, meaning Castle and River, carefully considered spaces where patients feel safe and comfortable throughout their procedure.

Beyond the suite names, Welsh artwork and photography can be found throughout the facility, each piece chosen to reflect the rich culture and landscape of the country.

Today is World Environment Day ๐ŸŒ

As proud winners of โ€œGreen Practice of the Yearโ€ at the recent Welsh Dentistry Awards, it feels like the perfect moment to share some of the steps we have taken here at the South Wales Specialist Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Centre to reduce our environmental impact.

Since opening our doors, sustainability has been embedded into everything we do. For example, we have eliminated single-use plastic cups throughout the practice in favour of recyclable paper ones in our waiting area, and reusable metal cups within our surgeries. We use metal decontamination trays throughout our clinical environment to reduce the number of plastic bags used, and autoclavable stainless steel 3-in-1 tips instead of disposable plastic ones. We use glass pots instead of plastic dapens dishes and autoclavable scanner tips (saving 150 single use ones). Our patients complete medical history forms and consent forms electronically on iPads saving paper, and in our patient WC, reusable flannels replace paper towels entirely and are laundered on site after every use.
We have also recently had solar panels installed so we are now generating our own electric as well!
If you are a dental practice out there and would like any advice or guidance about how to reduce your environmental impact then please donโ€™t hesitate to reach out to us. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’™

A smile is one of the most powerful things you can share.

It can change the mood of a room, put someone at ease, and say everything without a single word. Yet for so many people, feeling self-conscious about their teeth means they hold back, covering their mouth, avoiding photographs, or simply not smiling as freely as they once did.

At the South Wales Specialist Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Centre, we see every day what happens when that changes. The confidence that comes with feeling happy in your smile goes far beyond your teeth, it affects how you feel, how you carry yourself, and how you engage with the world around you.

If you've been putting something off, or simply want to find out what's possible, we're here to help. Contact the clinic or visit the link in our bio to arrange a consultation. ๐Ÿ˜Š
