Great end to a fun trip up to Edinburgh for an IAS ABB level 1 course - sat next to and had a long chat to this lovely “chatty man” on the way home -

Emergency repair from a previous repair.. treated with Venus Diamond using the reverse triangle technique. This is a simple freehand technique that allows for high strength and great blend without bevelling. - just sandblasting on the right central - obviously remove/replaced the other.

Still a secondary polishing due (as always in one month) but the best thing is that I’ve been using this material for 15 years and of course this tooth is going to need retreating likely more due to the other teeth colour / shape maturation but I know these can last that long at least due to the material itself and the way we actually place it on the tooth… because that part alone is crucial

If you wan to learn now to use this method we teach this at a simple level as a part of the level 1 ABB course. We also teach it at a much more complex level on the Level 2 ABB where you can use it as part of a Dahl treatment.

New year post.

Just a lovely simple super non invasive case using the IAS reverse triangle technique with Venus composite from

This is the method I developed and now use for nearly all my edge bonding and ALL of my Dahl cases that is so simple , no prep or bevel required and just literally two increments of material. It’s very specific in how it’s placed but once you know then fast strong edge bonding becomes a reality.

This lovely lady just wanted the edges tidied up and harmonised - which we did with Venus diamond olc and bL and a little gum contouring.
Polished with Venus Supra polishers

With over 15 years follow ups with this material I know it works.

We teach this technique with simple placement on the level 1 ABB course, and more complex case types on the level 2 ABB course with myself and

A real honour speaking at the Introduction to Occlusion Symposium in Edinburgh put together by Tom Bereznicki and his charitable foundation.

The profession owes Tom a lot for his generosity and drive to push education and help younger dentists. Thanks to the College of General Dentistry for their kind support of this event

Personally this was a highlight as my double act lecture with Dr Shiraz Khan on “orthodontics and occlusion”
felt like one of the best presentations I have ever been part of in my last 20 years of teaching.

There are not many joint lectures given nowadays but this was everything we believe about real prevention, minimal and ethical treatments and the best possible outcomes for patients rolled into 90 minutes.

Great to be speaking alongside the likes of Professor Paul Tipton , Ken Harris , and Koray Feran all who gave world class talks making occlusion accessible and relatable to all dentists.

Two fantastic and intense days in Manchester. Teaching the level 1 ABB ortho restorative course.
Great group of delegates very receptive to these concepts which very much redefine what preventative treatment really is. And which focus on offering genuine lifetime outcomes for patients

All done teaching proper ortho assessment diagnosis planning, diagnosis based prescriptions and full mentoring to ensure the best outcomes.

Thanks to Kulzer Uk for their material support allowing us to teach my reverse triangle technique to give the delegates confidence to combined seamless aesthetics and super strength.
And to IAS of course for aligner and orthodontics support.

Daily ortho restorative dentistry that EVERY dentist should be capable of

Orthodontic aligners, whitening, a little bonding and two ceramic units on a challenging shape and colour case

Most importantly our ortho plan allowed us to improve the envelope of function, remove fremitus from a post treated tooth , improve guidance , improve aesthetic colour and tooth shape.

And we didn’t need 24 veneers …

Just the patients own teeth looking more beautiful.. took a couple of gos to get the ceramic units spot on but thanks to fantastic work from and we got there.

Thanks to lab for fantastic support through the new IAS portal for aligners that arrived quickly and with variable trim height and minimal attachments!!

Thanks to for Venus bonding materials and IAS now are proud providers of their Vivida whitening system!

Leant these protocols start to finish and apply them to ANY aligner system on the ABB level 1 in Manchester sept 5/6 and ABB level 2 in London with myself and Shiraz Khan October 24/25

Simple Dahl lower and upper edge bond / replacement veneer case.

Patient wanted the most minimal change , nothing fake , and just her own teeth looking a little longer and natural.
Case treated with Venus Diamond from and two veneers from

Placed reverse triangle edge bonding as taught on the IAS level 1 ABB courses and lower Dahl build ups as taught on the IAS level 2 Ortho restorative course

Understanding correct contact placement and axial loading is essential when doing Dahl cases if you want a 100 percent success rate with zero removals over 30 years. You cannot just stick it on randomly.

Once you can do it you unlock arguably THE most powerful longevity tool in dentistry.

And London October 24/25 with myself and Shiraz Khan for level 2 ..

15 years since my first lecture In Copenhagen and 50+ trips and courses later I’m back in the hotel where it all started with .gerdes for this day lecture on the power of aligners and ortho restorative treatment thanks to .nordics for the support for a truly wonderful day..
