If you pay NHS charges, instead of paying a proportion of the cost of your treatment, you will pay one of four fixed charges relating to the type of care and treatment you have had. The charge bands are given below and are correct as of April 2011, for up to date rates please visit the NHS Choices Website.

•Band 1: £17.00 This charge includes an examination, diagnosis and preventive advice. If necessary, it also includes X-rays, scale and polish and planning for further treatment.

•Band 2: £47.00 This charge includes all the necessary treatment covered by the £16.50 charge, plus additional treatment, such as fillings, root canal treatment or extractions.

•Band 3: £204.00 This charge includes all the necessary treatment that is covered by the £16.50 and £45.60 charges, plus more complex procedures, such as crowns, dentures and bridges.

•Band 4: £17.00 This charge covers urgent dental treatment including out-of-hours treatment.

Under the NHS you could be entitled to free treatment or partial exemption if:

•You are an expectant mother or have a child under the age of one.

•You are under 20 years of age and still in full time education.

•You are under 18 years of age.

•You are receiving income support, working family tax credit,
income based job seekers allowance or disability tax credit.
If you are in receipt of any of these benefits you will need to show evidence to the reception staff before your treatment commences. Please ask at reception if you are unsure.

Payment Policy

NHS Treatment:
You will be expected to pay in full for all treatment provided under Bands 1,2 & 4 on the day that you receive the treatment. For any treatment carried out under Band 3, you will usually be required to pay a deposit of £100 towards the NHS charge at the start of the course of treatment and the balance will be payable prior to the completion of the work. However, in some instances it may be necessary for you to pay the full Band 3 charge prior to treatment commencing. Before carrying out any dental treatment under Bands 2 or 3, your dentist will give you a personal dental treatment plan. You will be asked to read and sign this plan, which will provide details of the dental work that your dentist is going to do, and the amount that you will have to pay.

Private Treatment:
Before commencing any treatment under a Private Contract your dentist will provide you with a personal treatment plan which you will be asked to read and sign. The plan will provide details of the dental work that your dentist is going to do along with the amount you will have to pay.

Prior to any treatment commencing under this agreed personal treatment plan you will be required to pay a deposit of 50% of the total cost with the balance of each item on the plan payable on the day they are completed.

We accept most major credit and debit cards as well as cash payments.
