The ESE is a vibrant and dynamic organization representing the dental specialty of Endodontology in Europe and beyond with 35 member societies from 33 countries. HISTORY
The European Society of Endodontology (ESE) was created in 1983 from the existing European Academy of Endodontology. The Society was initially made-up of ‘active’ individual members but was re-structured in 2001 into a federal org
anisation representing national endodontic and dental societies throughout Europe and beyond and a new category of ‘Certified’ individual members. Later a 'Specialist' membership category was introduced as well as ‘Guest’ and ‘Dental Nurse’ categories. The ESE is governed by a General Assembly made-up of country representative from each member society and managed by an Executive Board that currently consists of President, Paul Dummer; Treasurer, Vittorio Franco; President Elect and Chair of Education & Scholarship Committee, John Whitworth; Chair of Research Committee, Kerstin Galler; Chair of Clinical Practice Committee, Gianluca Gambarini; Chair of Membership Committee, Hal Duncan; Chair of Benefits of Endodontics Committee, Lise-Lotte Kirkevang. to develop Endodontology and enhance the provision of endodontic care;
2. to represent the discipline of Endodontology at a European and world level;
3. to serve as a non-profit federal organisation for member national endodontic/dental societies;
4. to act as a scientific consultant for Endodontology within Europe and beyond;
