Waiting for surgery can feel like life is on hold. For many seniors, the daily question is "can I get through groceries, stairs, or an icy sidewalk without pain or a leg that feels unsteady?"
A custom knee brace is not the right answer for everyone. It will not cure arthritis or replace medical advice. But for the right person, at the right time, it can reduce pain, improve stability, and help you stay active while you wait.
A few signs it may be worth assessing:
• pain returns after 5–15 minutes of standing, shopping, or walking
• you lean on the cart by the end of the grocery trip
• your knee gives way on stairs or uneven ground
• a store-bought brace slips, pinches, or just lives in your drawer
The goal is not perfection. The goal is better function in daily life.
If you make the trip over to our Calgary clinic, we will begin with an assessment, walking check, measurements or 3D scan, and a clear next-steps plan. Typical custom delivery is often about 12–14 days. This information supports—not replaces—advice from your healthcare provider.
