🦷 Why Dental Hygiene at Home Is a Great Option for Many
After 13 years of practicing as a registered dental hygienist, one thing has become very clear: access and comfort play a major role in whether people stay consistent with their oral health care.
Professional dental hygiene provided at home follows the same clinical standards, infection control protocols, and regulatory requirements as care delivered in a traditional clinic setting. The difference is the environment.
For many clients—particularly seniors, children, individuals with anxiety, medical conditions, or mobility challenges—receiving care at home allows for a calmer, more focused appointment and often better long-term outcomes.
Mobile dental hygiene is well suited for preventive care such as routine cleanings, periodontal maintenance, oral assessments, and personalized education. It also removes common barriers like transportation issues, time constraints, and physical accessibility.
At-home care is not a replacement for dentists, but rather a complementary part of comprehensive oral health care, helping clients maintain consistency between dental visits.
I share educational information here to help clients and families understand their options and make informed decisions about their oral health.
