Did you know that an early orthodontic assessment can make a big difference in your
child’s smile journey? 😀
The Australian Society of Orthodontists recommends that children have their first orthodontic check-up around age 7 when the teeth and jaws are still developing.
At this stage, we can identify any anomalies in dental development. Early assessment does not always mean early treatment — often it’s simply about monitoring and choosing the right time to begin, if needed.

Here at Olivia Rogers Orthodontics we are often asked “Do braces hurt?” Braces place force on the teeth to make them feel sore. Usually the pain eases a couple of days after the braces have been placed or wires are changed. This short term pain can be relieved using over the counter pain medications, ice packs, dental wax, eating softer foods, and maintaining good oral health.
