🥤 Sports Drinks: Are They Really Good for Your Teeth?
During Dental Health Week, it's important to remember that while sports drinks can help replace fluids and electrolytes during prolonged, intense exercise, they can also have a significant impact on your oral health.
Many sports drinks contain 6–8 teaspoons of sugar per bottle, along with acids such as citric acid that can soften and erode tooth enamel. The combination of high sugar and high acidity increases the risk of tooth decay and enamel erosion especially if they're sipped frequently throughout the day.
💧 For most people and most activities lasting less than 60 minutes, water is the best choice for staying hydrated.
Looking after your teeth doesn't mean giving up your favourite activities it just means making smart choices to keep your smile healthy.
