Did you know that your dental check-up is about more than just a scale and clean?

At every check-up we look for signs of :
🦷 oral cancer
🦷 gum disease
🦷 cracked teeth
🦷 early signs of decay (cavities)
🦷 compromised fillings

At Bank Street Dental we believe in a preventative approach. We recommend most patients visit the dentist every 6 months to ensure that we can properly monitor your oral health and better avoid complex and costly treatments in the future.

Did you know, in the early stages, dental decay doesn’t have any symptoms at all. When a tooth starts to hurt this usually indicates that the nerve of the tooth is involved and that more expensive treatment such as root canals or extractions are necessary. Small cavities on the other hand are usually more simple and less expensive to treat, often requiring only a small filling.

Regular dental check-ups are necessary to detect and identify these tiny ā€œholesā€ and to help determine which teeth may be at risk of decay in the future. For most patients, we recommend you visit the dentist every 6 months to help keep your teeth healthy and strong.

Book your check-up online at www.bankstreetdental.com.au or call 02 5319 0190 to make an appointment.

We hope everyone had a fun Halloween šŸŽƒ and are enjoying all of their yummy treats šŸ¬!

Some tips for keeping your teeth healthy and avoiding a spooky smile include:
- Avoiding hard lollies that can crack teeth and fillings
- Limiting intake of sticky lollies like caramels and gummies which can stick in the grooves of your teeth and promote decay/cavities
- Reducing the amount of time sugars are on your teeth - Enjoy a treat just after mealtime or even eat all of your lollies in one go! Reducing the amount of time sugar spends on your teeth reduces your risk of decay
- Make sure you brush your teeth for 2 minutes 2x per day with fluoridated toothpaste and floss daily
