We had a fun & long lunch today in the middle of our clinical day ❤️🤭
There was an unexpected cancellation so we finished our cases earlier than anticipated 🐶🐱
We used the opportunity to do a short excursion, had a hearty lunch, and took a bunch of selfies 🤣📸
We all went back to work to tidy up some admin, then we went home early, woowee!!!🌼
We handled the unexpected day with the classic Sabertooth style, 👉Work Smart & Play Hard 👈

Dr. Will and Selena had fun teaching a dental workshop for 13 veterinarians last Friday as part of the AVA Annual conference 🦷💥

From lectures, hands-on workshop for extractions, dental radiographs techniques, to dental radiology interpretation - we did 'em all in 1 full day 🤭

Our hearts were full seeing the enthusiasm and everyone was a fast learner (and eager!) ❤️ Thank you for coming!

Thank you and Australian Vet Dental Society for inviting us to lead this workshop 🌼

Thanks for allowing us to plagiarize your slides for this post🤣

Malocclusion class 1 Linguoversion (aka base narrow canines) is a common condition that we receive as a referral from our primary vets🦷
This condition is painful as the lower adult canines are causing a contact trauma to the palate (swipe ➡️ to see the photos)📸
Rosie came to us recently for this condition. During the consultation, we discussed multiple different options such as surgical extractions and crown height reduction with vital pulp therapy were discussed🩺
Rosie's family elected for surgical extractions to prevent further oral pain (and no follow-ups are required with this option). Extractions of the lower canine teeth do not have any negative impact on functionality or quality of life. ❤️🌼
Thank you to Rosie's family for providing us Rosie's photos and positive feedback after the surgery. We are thrilled to hear that Rosie is pain-free and has a comfortable oral cavity🐾

Charley was referred and had multiple extractions with us a couple of months ago 🦷💥
Not only Charley had concurrent periodontal disease, Charley also had non-vital tooth and malocclusion!
This is a good example where thorough oral exam (both conscious and anaesthetized) along with the evaluation of dental radiographs are important to fully diagnose all dental pathology (there may not be just one problem!)
Thank you Charley's family for entrusting us and also for sending us these cute photos of Charley (+ Bailey and cousins)

Happiest Birthday to.... Michael !!!!❤️🎉
Michael is a caring, patient, and kind human who always ensures our patients (and clients) are looked after 🌟🐾
He often throws funny comments (out of nowhere) that makes the whole Sabertooth team burst into laughters 🤣
We are so lucky to have him as our vet tech 🍀
Cheers to many more years of fun/serious (& quirky) times at Sabertooth, Michael!!!

Let us share Ginny's story❤️
She had a little accident where she fractured her left upper canine tooth💥🦷
Her family immediately brought her to the primary vet who contacted us for an alternative treatment option other than tooth extraction
And yes, we can do a vital pulp therapy to save this tooth, as it was fractured within 24-48 hours!
Ginny's family didn't hesitate and drove from Toowoomba to Brisbane the next day🚗
Our Sabertooth team did the surgery during after hours to ensure we did it within the "window of opportunity" ⏰️
Thank you Ginny's family for the dedication (and amazing photos) 🎉🐾📸
Looking forward to seeing you in 6 months for the recheck dental radiographs, Ginny!
