Dental South This is a friendly dental family which works as a team to try and provide a warm and comforting environment to patients.

This is a family practice that has been opened in the Margate community in aim of providing better access to dental care. The principle dentist, Dr Jessica Manuela, is Tasmanian born and grew up in Kingston for most of her life and is happy to have returned to the area after completing her dental degree in Adelaide. Dr Manuela has a keen interest in providing quality preventative dental care and o

ral health education to everyone she sees and believes awareness is the key to maintaining oral health and overall well-being.Even the most anxious will find some ease in this small practice as we have tried our very best to cater to everyone’s dental and emotional needs. Sometimes overcoming the fear of going to the dentist is the biggest hurdle. We welcome all patients no matter what your dental history is.

Today is sorry business and a day for each of us to reflect on what it means to be human and respectful.

Me, personally, I would like the country to choose a different day to celebrate what it means to be Australian, so that everyone can join in.

It's hard to believe it's 2026 and we're still using the day of colonisation as the day to celebrate Australia. We can do better.

Child Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS)
Bulk Billed at Dental South 🦷

At Dental South, we bulk bill eligible children under the Child Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS), meaning no out-of-pocket costs for approved treatments (as long as benefits are available).

CDBS covers essential dental care for children aged 0–17, including:
• Check-ups
• Cleans
• X-rays
• Fillings & extractions

How much is covered?
Eligible children can receive up to $1,132 in dental benefits over a two-calendar-year period.
When does the 2-year period run?

The CDBS works in fixed two-calendar-year cycles:
• Current period: 1 January 2025 – 31 December 2026
• The benefit resets on 1 January of the next cycle
Unused benefits don’t roll over, so it’s best to use them before the end of the period.

How can I check if my child is eligible?
Parents can check eligibility and remaining balance by:
• Logging into myGov → Medicare
• Using the Express Plus Medicare app
• Calling Medicare on 132 011
Or simply ask our team — we’re happy to check for you.

Humans will innately try and climb for something more. In a world where money, capitalism and “success” are drivers behind existing, it’s easy to forget that without good health, nothing really matters.

Good health in the sense of emotionally, spiritually, physically, community, relationships and peace of mind.

Money certainly has the ability to make life easier and allows flexibility. However, over my career, I’ve seen many extremely stressed “successful” people who are very unwell, and conversely many people who are rich in health, love, vibes, exuding that energy where you want what ever it is that they’re taking. Health and happiness has always been within each of us, it’s just a matter of figuring out how to tap into it. The truth is, some of us will never discover that side of ourselves in this lifetime; and that is your right to stay asleep.

Wealth without health is misguided. Get your health in order and the rest will follow. Trust the process.

And if you’re money wealthy and miserable, schedule a day from your busy calendar to put pen to paper and figure out what you really need to feel happy and at peace.

I hope for my business to continue to strive towards bringing healthy smiles to fruition and being one small part of your health curation.

Today we were under-staffed (2 staff were ill 😓)..... we had 2 dental assistants for 3 clinicians. Our oral health therapist was ready to work solo. And our clinical coordinator, Roli, came in on his day off and saved the day. LEGEND!

Allan, Daffy, Elise. All amazing A players. And Dr Malcolm was put to work as Dr Jess's Dental assistant, he was really good at it 😅👏🏾 and showed what being a team player means!

So proud to be a part of a team that have each other's back and figure out ways to make the day work. Only give good vibes here.
