๐ฅค Dental Health Week may be over, but this one's worth remembering.
Dental Health Week wrapped up yesterday โ though the habits we talked about don't stop mattering when the week ends.
Vickey, our Oral Health Therapist, sat down to explain something that comes up often in the chair: sports drinks.
They're a normal part of training for a lot of people, and they do have their place. But most sports drinks are quite acidic, and that's where the effect on your teeth begins.
The bigger factor is frequency. Sipping slowly across a whole training session keeps your teeth in contact with that acidity for far longer than finishing the drink in one sitting. It's not just what you drink โ it's how long it stays with you.
Water remains the best choice for everyday hydration. And if you do reach for a sports drink, finishing it rather than sipping over an hour makes a real difference.
Whether you're due for a check-up or it's been a little while since your last visit, we'd love to see you.
