Baby teeth are not “practice teeth.” 🦷
Lately I’ve seen a LOT of comments online saying things like: “they fall out anyway” “don’t bother until adult teeth come through” “just wait until there’s a problem”
And I get it. A lot of parents are told this. 💔

But early childhood decay can happen FAST and quietly. Sometimes by the time a child is in pain, the disease process has already been there for months. Infection in baby teeth can affect eating, sleep, speech, confidence, growth, and even the adult teeth developing underneath.
Baby teeth are tiny placeholders holding space for the adult teeth coming through later. They matter more than people realise.

The good news? ✨ Dental disease is largely preventable. Early visits are not about scaring parents or doing “big dental work” on babies. They’re about:
💗 education
💗 prevention
💗 checking development
💗 helping kids feel safe in a dental environment
💗 giving parents support with brushing, feeding, fluoride and habits

A quick, gentle check early on can prevent a whole avalanche later. Tiny teeth. Big job. 🦷⚡

And please remember: Parents are not “bad parents” for not knowing this information. We can only work with what we’ve been taught. My goal will always be education without shame. 💗

Even oral health therapists need a turn in the chair 😅🦷

Today it was me… rubber dam, numb face, the whole vibe.
And guess what? I still cracked a tooth AND had decay hiding underneath 👀

We know teeth.
We teach teeth.
But we’re not immune to life happening to them.

My dentist focuses on saving as much natural tooth as possible (hello ceramic onlays instead of crowns 🙌✨) and it’s such a good reminder that dentistry is evolving in the best way.

But here’s the real takeaway 👇
Regular check-ups matter. Even when you “do everything right.” I

f I’m going every 6 months… you better believe your kiddos should be too 💗

No shame. No judgement. Just gentle care and early catches.

Still smiling after this visit 🥹💗

I had the BEST time at Wildberries Early Learning teaching the kids all about keeping their teeth healthy (and yes… there were definitely some cheeky “sugar monsters” hiding 👀🦷)

These sessions are so important because a lot of little ones are seeing dental environments for the first time… and we’re turning it into something fun, calm and positive from the start ✨
