"Doctor, my tooth has cracked. Do I have to remove it?" 🦷

This is one of the most common questions Dr. Rasmina Kenesar hears, and the answer isn't a simple yes or no. It depends on how severe the crack is.

A cracked tooth doesn't automatically mean the tooth is lost. Here's what we look at:
✅ How extensive the crack is
✅ Whether it has reached the nerve
✅ Whether the tooth can still be repaired and protected

If the crack has reached the nerve (the pulp), we do a root canal and place a protective crown over it. If the crack isn't extensive, a filling or veneer can often fix it.

The earlier you get it checked, the better your chances of saving your natural tooth.
